In 2008 Charlie Smith co-founded CMK Entertainment LLC., which established himself in the world of event production and fashion shows. CMK Entertainment LLC., is the managing company of Philadelphia Fashion Week, of which Charlie Smith is the Executive Producer and Director of Productions.

As a photographer Charlie also created his own company, Lucca Photography, and has had gallery openings in and around Philadelphia and New York. Charlie's work is classically modern, reflecting what he believes is a shift back to honest, simple photography with an emphasis on the expression of emotion, content, mood and environment. Charlie aims to capture the subject as a person and not as a prop providing his images with a humanity often lacking in fashion photography. By combining the individuality of portraiture and elegant editorial photography, Charlie seeks to capture work that is classically modern.

Recently Charlie published a book entitled The Living Form, a collection of photographs from his composite series.
